Interior Doors: Door Styles
Who would have thought there would be so many different styles of interior doors? Well, when you order through Builders Surplus, the options are endless. And once you’ve made the decision on the perfect door for your home, the lead time of only one week for a special order door will make you smile!
Interior Door Styles
Choose from a great variety of door styles. Here’s a partial list of some types for you to check out:
One of the most common styles is a Panel molded doors. These doors are constructed from hardboard fiber material with a series of panels or designs pressed into molds to create the door face (Reeb). In addition, they are available in a variety of designs.
Flush doors are constructed using a mixture of wood and wood-fiber components and have a completely flat surface. Flush doors are a more simple and economical design option. They are available in a variety of wood species. These doors are okay to paint or stain.
Bi-fold doors are very popular options for small areas. People use these doors primarily for closets but also in other tight spaces. For example, hide a washer and dryer in a laundry room or as a pantry door in your kitchen.
Sliding bypass doors are constructed by hanging two or more interior doors mounted onto a track. These doors will not swing, but slide by each other. Sliding doors are great for closets or spaces which previously contained French doors.
Pocket doors slide just as the bypass doors. However, they usually consist of one single door. The door is mounted to an overhead track that slides into a space inside the wall. Homeowners like pocket doors for that exact reason: they are hidden within the wall and allow for more space.
Custom Interior Doors
In addition, custom style doors are available. If you’re looking for attic access or a knee-wall door, we can make that happen at Builders Surplus. Depending on the design and size of the door, special orders may be available. (Please speak with an associate regarding custom sizes and styles.) Keep in mind flush doors can be reduced to any height.
